Colored Human Skull Model, Life Size 3 Part Dissectible - XC-104C

The XC-104C is a life size human skull model with each cranial bone painted a separate colour, so the sutures and the boundary of every bone are visible without a diagram. It is moulded in PVC, separates into three parts, and carries a removable calvarium and movable mandible.

Key features:

  • Bones painted in separate colours — each cranial bone identifiable at a glance
  • Sutures read clearly — colour boundaries mark where bones meet
  • Dissectible into three parts — opens for interior study
  • Removable calvarium and movable mandible — cranial cavity and jaw both accessible
  • Foramina and fissures depicted — surface landmarks retained under the colour
  • Teeth set separately in white — dental arch stays legible against the coloured bone

Why coloured bones speed up learning:

On a plain skull the sutures are the only clue to where one bone ends and the next begins, and students often lose the boundary once they turn the specimen over. Painting each bone separately, the approach usually called a didactic skull, keeps every boundary visible from any angle.

Construction and dissection:

Apart from the colouring, the build matches the plain XC-104: PVC throughout, dissectible into three parts, calvarium off, mandible movable and teeth installed separately in white. The white teeth stand out against the painted bones, which keeps the dental arch readable when the rest of the skull is colour coded.
