What magnification does the ASI-M100 give?
100X to 675X in the standard configuration, using the supplied 10x and 15x eyepieces with the 10x and 45x objectives.
Does it need a mains power supply?
No. The standard model uses a plano-concave mirror for illumination, so it works in classrooms without power at every bench. A plug-in LED light is available if you prefer electric illumination.
Can I use it for oil immersion work?
Not in the standard configuration. A 100X objective (100X/1.25, 160/0.17) is available as an optional upgrade for higher magnification work.
How does it compare with the ASI-M110?
The ASI-M100 is the entry model. The ASI-M110 upgrades the focus knobs from plastic to metal, uses pinch slide clips rather than simple clips, has higher grade lenses and mirror, and includes widefield eyepieces as standard.
Is it suitable for school students?
Yes. It is designed for school and college teaching labs, with a metal body and a triple nosepiece with positive click-stop so students locate each objective correctly.
